Yuhu Village (玉湖村, Yùhú Cūn),also known as Xuesong Village (雪嵩村),is an ancient Naxi ethnic village at the southern foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain,about 18 km north of Lijiang Old Town,Yunnan Province。

What to See & Do

Stone Village Architecture
Traditional Naxi houses built with local glacier stone (walls, roofs, lanes). Many roofs have small wooden fish (a Naxi talisman against fire)。

Jade Lake (玉湖)
An artificial lake from the Ming Dynasty,built by the local Mu rulers。“Jade Lake Reflection” is one of the 12 Scenes of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain。

Joseph Rock’s Former Residence
The Austrian-American botanist/explorer lived here 1922–1949。His wooden house is now a small museum (¥10) with photos and plant specimens。

Horse Trekking
Ride horses on the ancient Tea-Horse Trail with views of the snow mountain (¥68–168)。

Dongba Culture Experience
Try Dongba papermaking workshops (¥88) and learn about Naxi writing。
