Day 01: Xining (2270m)
Arrive in the gorgeous town of Xining, the capital city of Qinghai Province, where you’ll find your guide ready and waiting to transfer you from the airport to Hotel,
Day 02: Xining – Kokonor – Dredzong monastery (2900m) 190km 5hrs
In the morning drive to Dredzong Monastery via Kokonor. Dredzong monastery contains plenty of hermitages and meditation caves in its remote, mountain setting, over 3,600 meters above sea-level. If you feel up to it, explore more of the surrounding areas on a hike through the mountainside.
Day 03: Rebkong – Gangya Grassland – Labrang(3010m) 103km 4 – 5 hrs
In the morning drive to Labrang via the famous Gangya grassland to reach Labrang town. Before get Gangya grassland. You can also have a stop at the Gartse monastery. Labrang is located in Xiahe (CH)County of Amdo province.
Day 04: Labrang – Taksang Lhamo (3300m) 184km 3–4hrs
In the morning Visit Labrang monastery. is one of the six great monasteries of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. Its formal name is Genden Shédrup Dargyé Trashi Gyésu khyilwé Ling. The monastery was founded in 1709 by the first Jamyang Shêlpa, Ngawang Tsondru. Once again we drive south 184km to Taktsang Lhamo Monastery, which lies at the border of Sichuan and Gansu Province.You stay at the small Tibetan trading town, next to the monastery. Above the monastery are green hills and the monastery. It is a spectacular scene. At this place, two Yellow Sect monasteries lie side by side but Kirti Monastery belongs to Sichuan Province and Sertri Monastery to Gansu. Kirti was founded in 1413 and many of the monastic buildings have been beautifully reconstructed in the typical Amdo style.
Day 05: Taksang Lhamo- Machu(3600m) 193km 4-5 hrs
In the morning drive to Machu. Machu composes the southwestern pocket of Kanlho. a vast spread of high grassland defined by a loop of the Yellow River as it skirts the southernmost thrust of the great Amnye Machen range of Golog. It is an exceptionally Tibetan area, adjoining Golog and Yushu on its western and southern edges and merging the Zoge grasslands, whose natural geography it shares, in the east. Always remote from history’s wider gaze. Here You can experience the way of Tibetan nomad life.
Day 06: Machu(3600m)
Camping with Machu nomad on the yellow river bend. an area famous for its wildflower-carpeted grasslands, flocks of sheep and herds of horses.
Day 07: Machu(3600m) – Jigdil
In the morning drive approximately 120km from Machu to Jigdril in Qinghai Province. Much of the area is high windswept marshlands and extensive grasslands that rise to 3292m. Here nomads graze their large herds of yaks and sheep living in hand-woven black yak hair tents. You will probably picnic en-route and stop to visit a nomadic family so that we can note the tent structure and see the hand-woven rugs and bags made by the nomads. If we arrive in good time we will visit a local monastery.
Day 08: Jigdil – Darlag – Mayang Shukmo grassland
In the morning drive to Mayang Shukmo grassland of Darlag. Which is one of the most remote nomadic place located south Amdo province. And also consider to be the place where the King Gesar lived many years there.
Day 09: Mayang Shukmo Grassland
Mayang Shukmo grassland sandwiched between Yangtze and Yellow river as it land forms a vast grassland to preserve large number of yaks and sheep. The nomads here depend fully on their life on the yaks and sheep.
Day 10: Mayang Shukmo Grassland – Machen – Trika
In the morning drive Trika via Machen and Ragya monastery.
Day 11: Trika – Xining
In the morning drive from Trika to Xining via Kumbum monastery. Kumbhum Jampa-ling Monastery, one of the six major monasteries of Gelugpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism was founded in 1583 by the Third Dalai Lama, Sonam-gyatso (1543-1588). It was built in a narrow valley close to the village of Lusar, at the site where Tsongkhhapa (1357-1419), the founder of the Gelugpa Tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, had been born. The monastery was situated at 25km from Xining city in Rashar county (Huang zhong in Chinese )of Amdo Tibet.
Day 12: Depart Xining
