Day 01: Xining (2270m)

Arrive in the gorgeous town of Xining, the capital city of Qinghai Province, where you’ll find your  guide ready and waiting to transfer you from the airport to Hotel,

Day 02: Xining – Shachung Monastery – Repkong (2900m) 190km 5hrs 

In the morning drive to Shachung Monastery, Shachuang monastery is the monastery where Je Dzongkapa became monk at the age of 7.and the view of yellow river from the monastery id stunning. Afternoon, drive to Repkong. En route. You will see the some muslim villages. Repkong sits on the edge of the Tibetan plateau in a region historically known to its nomadic inhabitants as Amdo. The towns origins stretch back several hundred years when it emerged around the establishment of the Rongwo Monastery.home to three large Tibetan Buddhist monasteries and is famous across Tibet for its artists. Along the way, catch beautiful views of the Yellow River.

Day 03: Rebkong(2900m)

In the morning visit rongwo monastery. The monastery was established in 1301. Though some of the halls and their resident Buddhas have been rebuilt multiple times over their 700 year history. Rongwo monastery consider to be one of the biggest monasteries in Repkong region. Around 5pm. You will see the monks debating in the courtyard of main temple. Afternoon. Visit the upper and lower Shanggyeshung monasteries. the monastery’s collection of centuries old Thanka paintings and watch the resident artists continuing the tradition. The complex is divided into upper and lower monasteries, each with its own set of prayer halls, courtyards and artist studios.

Day 04: Rebkong – Gangya Grassland – Labrang(3010m) 103km 4 – 5 hrs   

In the morning drive to Labrang via the famous Gangya grassland to reach Labrang town. Before get Gangya grassland. You can also have a stop at the Gartse monastery. Labrang is located in Xiahe (CH)County of Amdo province.

Day 05: Labrang (3010m)

In the morning Visit Labrang monastery. is one of the six great monasteries of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. Its formal name is Genden Shédrup Dargyé Trashi Gyésu khyilwé Ling. The monastery was founded in 1709 by the first Jamyang Shêlpa, Ngawang Tsondru. It is Tibetan Buddhism’s most important monastery town outside the Tibetan Autonomous Region. afternoon. You can do a Kora around the monastery by your own.

Day 6: Labrang – – Binglingsi Grottoes(1800m) – Pari(1520m) 302km

In the morning you will drive to visit the Binglingsi Grottoes, Binglingsi Grottoes is a series of grottoes filled with Buddhist sculpture carved into natural caves and caverns in a canyon along the Yellow River. The sculptures, carvings, and frescoes that remain are outstanding examples of Buddhist artworks and draw visitors from around the world. The site is well preserved, including 183 caves, 694 Buddha stone statues, 82 earth buddha statues, and more than 900 square meters mural paintings. Afterwards, drive to Pari. is an important cultural region located in northeastern Tibet, or Amdo. The region became Tibetanized in the seventh century when the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo established a powerful Tibetan empire.

Day 7: Pari – Jiayuguan (1600m)  500km 

In the morning you will take a long drive on the section of the extensive Silk Roads network, The Silk Roads were an interconnected web of routes linking the ancient societies of Asia, the Subcontinent, Central Asia, Western Asia and the Near East, and contributed to the development of many of the world’s great civilizations. You will arrive Jiayiguan late afternoon.

Day8: Jiayiguan(1600m)

In the morning visit Jiayuguan Pass. Wander along the ancient city wall and feel the heartbeats of this “first pass under heaven”. Then head to visit the Great Wall Museum where you will learn about the history of Jiayuguan Pass and the Great Wall.

Day 9: Jiayuguan – Yulin Grottoes – Dunhuang (1139m) (504km)

In the morning drive about 374km from Jiayuguan to Dunhuang. On the way, visit the Yulin Grottoes in Guazhou county. In the forty-two caves are preserved more than 100 polychrome statues and over 5,000 square meters of wall paintings, dating from Tang Dynasty to Yuan Dynasty. It is considered as the sister of Mogao Grottoes. Then continue drive to Duhuang.

Day 10: Dunhuang (1600m)

In the morning visit the Mogao Grottoes, which is the world’s most important site of ancient Buddhist Culture. It is outstanding for its exquisite mural paintings and statues. 735 sandstone caves holds 2,415 colorful statues and 45,000 square meters mural paintings. Then move on to visit the Echoing Sand Mountains, where it is said that the sand mountains echo like Orchestra music in the sunny days, even is there is no wind. If you slide down from the mountains, you can hear the echoing sound more clearly. Afterwards, continue to visit the Crescent Lake which is surrounded by sand mountains from different directions. It is a crescent-shaped lake in an oasis, with some well decorated traditional Chinese architecture, trees, flowers and a lake that has never dried up.

Day 11: Dunhuang (1600m)

In the morning drive to visit the Yadan National Geological Park, which has been created over time by the sort part of the earth surface and then has been eroded by wind and rain with the hard part of the rocks remaining in the desert. Then you will visit the Yumenguan which was the most important pass on the western of the Hexi Corridor region, where you will witness the management system of the traffic and the beacons, the defensive system of the Great Wall, and the long-distance traffic and communication on the Silk Road.

Day 12: Depart Dunhuang

Transfer to Dunhuang airport for departure flight.
