Day 01: Xining (2270m)
Arrive in the gorgeous town of Xining, the capital city of Qinghai Province, where you’ll find your guide ready and waiting to transfer you from the airport to Hotel
Day 02: Xining – Shachung Monastery – Repkong (2900m) 190km 5hrs
In the morning drive to Shachung Monastery, Shachuang monastery is the monastery where Je Dzongkapa became monk at the age of 7.and the view of yellow river from the monastery id stunning. Afternoon, drive to Repkong. En route. You will see the some muslim villages. Repkong sits on the edge of the Tibetan plateau in a region historically known to its nomadic inhabitants as Amdo. The towns origins stretch back several hundred years when it emerged around the establishment of the Rongwo Monastery.home to three large Tibetan Buddhist monasteries and is famous across Tibet for its artists. Along the way, catch beautiful views of the Yellow River.
Day 03: Rebkong(2900m)
In the morning visit rongwo monastery. The monastery was established in 1301. Though some of the halls and their resident Buddhas have been rebuilt multiple times over their 700 year history. Rongwo monastery consider to be one of the biggest monasteries in Repkong region. Around 5pm. You will see the monks debating in the courtyard of main temple. Afternoon. Visit the upper and lower Shanggyeshung monasteries. the monastery’s collection of centuries old Thanka paintings and watch the resident artists continuing the tradition. The complex is divided into upper and lower monasteries, each with its own set of prayer halls, courtyards and artist studios.
Day 04: Rebkong – Gangya Grassland – Labrang(3010m) 103km 4 – 5 hrs
In the morning drive to Labrang via the famous Gangya grassland to reach Labrang town. Before get Gangya grassland. You can also have a stop at the Gartse monastery. Labrang is located in Xiahe (CH)County of Amdo province.
Day 05: Labrang (3010m)
In the morning Visit Labrang monastery. is one of the six great monasteries of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. Its formal name is Genden Shédrup Dargyé Trashi Gyésu khyilwé Ling. The monastery was founded in 1709 by the first Jamyang Shêlpa, Ngawang Tsondru. It is Tibetan Buddhism’s most important monastery town outside the Tibetan Autonomous Region. afternoon. You can do a Kora around the monastery by your own.
Day 06: Labrang – Taksang Lhamo (3300m) 184km 3–4hrs
Once again we drive south 184km to Taktsang Lhamo Monastery, which lies at the border of Sichuan and Gansu Province.You stay at the small Tibetan trading town, next to the monastery. Above the mpnastery are green hills and the monastery. It is a spectacular scene. At this place, two Yellow Sect monasteries lie side by side but Kirti Monastery belongs to Sichuan Province and Sertri Monastery to Gansu. Kirti was founded in 1413 and many of the monastic buildings have been beautifully reconstructed in the typical Amdo style.
Day 07: Taksang Lhamo- Sogwo(3600m) 193km 4-5 hrs
In the morning drive to Sogwo. The local Tibetan people from Sogwo consider themselves to be Mongolians because this region were controlled by the Mongols nomad tribes once in ancient time. You can also visit the Laka monastery which is located 2km away from the Sogwo town. The monastery also gives a beautiful overlooking view from its small hill behind the monastery.
Day 08: Sogwo – Tsekok – Dredzong monastery(3400m) 270km 6 hrs
In the morning you will be driving to Dredzong monastery via Tsekok grassland and then you will also have a chance to see the Yellow river after passing Badzong. Dredzong monastery just located in front of Sedzong rock mountain. This is one of the most famous Dzongs in Amdo. The monastery also gives a beautiful hiking around the rocky mountains.
Day09: Dredzong monastery – Kokonor (3100m) 189km 4 hrs
In the morning you will be taking a Kora around the rocky mountain behind the monastery. Which takes 2 – 3 hrs. On the way you can visit meditation caves and various shapes around the mountain and also there are some wild blue sheep can be seen on the hiking trails. Afternoon drive to Kokonor via Chabcha town.
Day10: Kokonor – Xining (2270m) 160km 3 hrs
In the morning drive back to Xining via Sun and Moon mountain. A small mountain range Kunlun. Which consider to be the land mark of Tibetan plateau and the Yellowland plateau of China. If time allows. You can visit Tibet Medicine Museum.
Day11: Depart Xining
Your guide will transfer you to the Xining airport.
