Day 01: Xining(2270m)
Arrive in the gorgeous town of Xining, the capital city of Qinghai Province, where you’ll find your guide ready and waiting to transfer you from the airport to Hotel,
Day 02. Xining – Kokonor (3100m) – Trika(2100m) 230km 5 – 6hrs
In the morning you will drive to Kokonor, the biggest salt lake in Tibet and the name of the lake originated from Mongolian because Mongol tribes were here many year in ancient time. in the afternoon you will drive to Trika through sand dunes and along the Yellow River. In Trika. You will visit Jokhang Temple. A small temple of Buddha.
Day 04: Trika – Achuang Namdzong – Yadzi (Xunhua)(2900m)
In the morning you will drive along the Yellow River to Achuang Namdzong located in the Khamra national park. A Nyinmapa tradition nunnery. There is also a hermitage on a high hill which offers excellent views from the top. And the great three scholars cave is also on the top of that hill. Afternoon drive to Xunhua. You will be staying at a Tibetan farmer’s house. And experience the way of Tibetan farmer’s life.
Day 05: Yadzi
Today would be the full day of exploring Tibetan farmers and their villages. And afternoon. Visit the 10th Panchen lama’s birth place in the Mari village. Panchen lama is the highest ranking lama after the Dalai Lama in the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism.
Day 06: Yadzi – Repkong (3300m) 184km 3–4hrs
In the morning drive to Repkong via Chentsa along the yellow river. Visit Rongwo monastery. Rongwo monastery is located in heart of Repkong town. It was found in the early 13th century. This is a mother monastery of 35 other monasteries in the region. the biggest monastery in the region. Currently there are about 800 monks live there. Afternoon there is a debating section. In which all the monks involved in the traditional way of study Tibetan Buddhism.
Day 07: Repkong
In the morning drive to Shangge shuang monasteries located 10km from the town. This village has been famous for producing some of the Tibetan world’s best thangkas paintings and painted statues, so that an entire school of Tibetan art is named after the town. You can also meet the arts and see how they painting thangkas.
Day 08: Repkong – Xining
In the morning drive back to Xining.
Day 09: Depart Xining
Your guide will transfer you to the Xining airport.
