Dzonggo monastery is a Kagyu sect temple located on top of Dzonggo Sacred Mountain cliff in Jinisay Town of Nangchen. This sacred mountain is like a natural lotus throne holding up Dzonggo monastery, surrounded by cliffs. the stupa on the Dzonggo cliff is built even before the Dzonggo monastery itself. This stupa is more than 900 years old. After the death of Sakya Gongduo Ningbo, one of the five Sakya Patriarchs, his disciple Bagalo built this to commemorate his merits. It is said that hidden inside is the rib relic of Sakya Gongduo.
