Dzongak or Songgang Watch Towers རྫོང་འགག་རྒྱལ་མཁར།

Dzongak Ancient Blockhouse Group or Songgang watch towers are located in Songgang town, 17 kilometers away from Barkham. It was built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty and was built by the Dzonggak Gyalpo. Although it is a blockhouse group , there are actually three blockhouses. The blockhouses are stone and wood structures with octagonal shapes. The whole blockhouse gradually tapers in from bottom to top and takes on the shape of a cone.
